I don't have a problem with it... John Brandt -----Original Message----- From: Colin Williams [mailto:colin.williams@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, August 29, 2003 9:37 AM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: APIs: Where are the @#$% manuals? Guys, Am I the only one that doesn't have a problem with Infocenter? I have bookmarked the main page for the release we are on, V5R1, and rather than searching infocenter, download the relevant manuals as PDF's to my PC. I only search the infocenter as a last resort. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Amen, brother, to the rant. Infocenter is extremely awkward and difficult. Nothing intuitive or straight forward about it. pdf is nice if you have broadband, but otherwise very painful. I'd think that the page that asks me what continent I live on and what version I want could also ask me if I prefer pdf or html. why do they care what continent I am on? No one else asks. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Thursday, August 28, 2003 3:08:01 PM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: APIs: Where are the @#$% manuals? <rant> InfoCenter is the worst designed, least useful, most akward 'resource' on the internet. Why don't the people in charge of it just ..pdf the manuals and buy the google search engine to run on their site? The whole thing could be run by an intern in her spare time and I could actually find something! </rant> _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
