A 620?  I shudder to think of all the hardware on that which might be 
incompatible with V5R2.  However, if you can, they I would strongly 
recommend upgrading it to V5R2 first.  Then, in theory, the IBM team could 
take the save and restore it into the LPAR just fine.  Providing the tape 
drive on the new machine is compatible.  Maybe they could even configure 
the old drive into the new machine.  Check obsoleted hardware carefully. I 
know that numerous tape drives have died between 45 and 52.
