Art, You can also look at Brad Stone's LSTFFD utility, also published in MC. I think it is freeware and can be downloaded from his site: www.bvstools.com. On your problem: do you have the code? If so and it is using the user space API's, then perhaps the entry lengths in the user spaces are hardcoded and not retrieved from the generic header data structure.
