ops console requires dial up networking

I want to use ops console on a w2k pc to connect to a 170 using the ops
console cable.

But when I try to start client access/operations console I am prompted to
install dial up networking on the pc.  This PC is running w2k professional.
Isnt DUN for w95/w98 only?

How do I install DUN on a w2k pc?

( In w2k I created a "connect directly to another computer" network
connection, but that meant nothing to cae ops console. )
