Don't you have to get through a complete IPL before you can do that?
Any actions at the DST level to clean some space will help. After that it is best to auto monitor with auto action of items to be cleaned up

Go CLEANUP then #1 and set the number of days for SYSTEM Journals and Logs to say... "1". I think the default is "30" days

Dear List,
For the last couple of weeks, I have been trying a number of different IPL
options on an AS/400 9402 model F04 (one of our old development machines) to
try and find a method to exit from the IPL, to delete some history files,
before continuing with the IPL. The reason is that I have exhausted my
available disk space to the point where an IPL cannot be successfully
completed due to lack of storage.
Does anyone know if OS/400 V3R2 offers such a function?
Thanks.
Best Regards,
