Yes it is true.

Several years back here in Raleigh, North Carolina, our Triangle Midrange
User's Group had a guest speaker from Microsoft, a fellow that was an
'Integration Specialist' between Microsoft's Backoffice Products and the
AS400.   He admitted to us they Microsoft then (about 4 years ago), made
extensive use of the AS400 in their operations.

I could go through my files and probably come up with the guys name.

John, this is probably not a supportable fact.

There are several versions of the story.  One is that the iSeries are in a
Microsoft distribution center in Ireland, and another is that the iSeries
are in use in Japan.   A third version has to do with a building in Redmond
with mirrored windows on the first floor.  Supposedly there are iSeries
lined up behind that glass.  Another version is that the iSeries were "sold"
to a third party vendor who now operates them for Microsoft doing just what
was being done before and in this way making it true that MS no longer runs
iSeries.

However there is no evidence to suggest that Microsoft runs its business on
iSeries either directly or indirectly. In fact Microsoft has spent time and
energy squashing this particular urban legend.

The photo is true - that sure looks like an iSeries screen to me. :)
