It's not a perfect solution I agree, but you could use the text-grabber,
then use the string scan for the chapter / section title.

Oliver,

This is a common problem with a lot of PDF manuals.

The best work around I've found is to remember the
number of pages that are offset and then calculate
the actual page number in your your head :)

I believe it has to do with the way the PDF document
was initially created because some PDF's (not from
IBM) work correctly. 

If anybody has found a better solution, I'd love
to hear about it...
