Make the first character a Q and the second character numeric in your password and you will never need to enter the Q again. If you type a number for the first character in your password, IBM in its infinite wisdom, places a Q in the first position. Same goes for the user id. -----Original Message----- From: Norbut, Jim [mailto:Jim.Norbut@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 1:55 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: allow numeric as 1st char of password We are at QPWDLVL 0 on V5R1 and it's not allowing us to use a numeric as the 1st character of a password. Does this sysval have anything to do with that being enforced ? if not....how (if possible) can a password start with a numeric. Thanks,
