Cathy, Some thoughts come to mind: - Many of your configuration objects, like line descriptions and IP interfaces, don't cause problems/conflicts unless they're active. So there are a number of things you can do in advance as long as you flag them not to come online at IPL. - Configuration is just a series of CL commands. If you know what you want to do when your system comes up in dedicated mode at your new site, you can run a CL program to remove old entries/objects and create new ones. Write the program now. - If most of what you want to do relates to your IP configuration, it shouldn't take more than half an hour to redefine things at the new site. Or when you say you will be administering remotely, does that include installation also? - Regarding moving, I assume that you're having this done professionally. My recollection is that a "fully-loaded 730" isn't going to fit in the back of a mini-van. Multiple backups are crucial. Check with your hardware maintenance provider to see if they have any stipulations or requirements and that they will cover you at your new location. Double/triple-check the power and plug requirements.
