This was always my big frustration with PCS file transfers (uploads). You are required to supply the FDF (File definition) which describes fields and their attributes, before uploading to the as400. The easiest way to make one is to download the file to the PC, saving the FDF on the PC. Then create you upload request, specifying the FDF created by the download. Newer version of CAX (Express) have the upload wizard, which can analyze the PC data for field definitions, and then creates an FDF and resulting upload file on the AS400, automagically. I think this is one of the best (most useful) wizards I've seen in a while. I'm able to download fine but when I upload I get a message saying the file I select must be a .FDF file. I'm selecting the text file by browsing to it. Should I be selecting the upload description instead? If so, how do I create it? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
