Rob >I know. Abandon STRPASTHR and use TELNET instead. > >Rob Berendt This could be an option in the future however the as/400 is a customers machine - not our own. >Did you actually look at QSYSOPR on both machines at the time of the >failure like the message suggests? > >Rob Berendt I did check previously. Here is the current details: on QSYSOPR: Message . . . . : Program start request received on communications device SYNAPSE was rejected with reason codes 726, 0. Cause . . . . . : The program start request was rejected in job 038529/QSYS/QPASVRS. The device belongs to remote location CUST. If the device is an advanced program-to-program communications (APPC) device, t program start request was received on mode BLANK with unit-of-work identifier *N-*N-*N. The first reason code means: User profile has been disabled. The second reason code means: None. Recovery . . . : See the job log for more information about the problem I then looked at the relavent joblog: CALL PGM(QSYS/QPASVRS) PARM('0001' 'QPASVRP QSYS 038522') Automatic sign-on not allowed. Virtual device CGMAWS1 selected at system CUST. Pressing Help on the above message: Message . . . . : Automatic sign-on not allowed. Cause . . . . . : User MIKE from location WELLBORO in network APPN attempted to automatically sign on to user profile ECSOFT at location in network APPN, but was not successful. The target system has rejected the sign-on attempt or does not support the automatic sign-on function, but has allowed a sign-on screen to be presented. Recovery . . . : Contact the remote site if you believe you should be allowed to automatically sign on using pass-through. n.b. The is reverse image blanks. It does appear that the user in the above message is wrong. In the above instance, I specified ECSOFT as the user on the STRPASTHR command, but it is showing MIKE in the message. Earlier messages where I did not specify a user/pwd on the STRPASTHR cmd shows user QSECOFR.... I have looked at the device description we use and have noticed that aswell as the std BLANK mode, there is also a SNASVCMG mode: -------------------Active modes-------------------- Job Mode name User Number BLANK QCMN QSYS 038503 SNASVCMG QLUS QSYS 038444 tried a DSPMODD on it but it comes up with: Reserved mode name not allowed for user mode name (CPD2707).
