Paul,

COMMON is a fantastic conference. I've been to the IBM tech conference
and I thought COMMON was better. Granted, even though I knew money was
too tight for us I did fill out a grid just to check and didn't find all
that much more that COMMON offered that the tech conference didn't, at
least that I was interested in. So either one or the other conferences
are changing, or my tastes are.

Now, I've not been to any of the plethora of other conferences. Frankly
there's so many that it's hard to find a free week. I know that the last
time I went to a tech conf that IBM scheduled it during the same week as
one of these others and boy was Al Barsa honked.

I wonder why these other conferences were really started. To fill a niche
that they felt that neither COMMON, nor the tech conference were
addressing, to grab some bucks, or to address some personal grudge.
