Memory is everything!  Your CPU speed is probably OK but for V5, which is
what you should base your decision on since it is imminent, IBM recommends
512Mb for the workbench and 1Gig if you are running the test environment
(and you wondered why it yours slow <grin>)

I have just upgraded to a new laptop so I can run this puppy.  My old one
was even smaller than yours at 192Mb and wouldn't run the test environment
at all.  I now have 768Mb of memory which hopefully will be enough, and a
2GHz CPU.  Workbench is quite snappy - haven't had time to play with the
test environment yet.
