This opinion baffles me. I doubt that AS/400 types would argue that *replacing* db2 with mysql would be a good thing, but there are probably more than just me who believe that mysql is a good thing. Personally, I want RPG's standard I/O (chain, read, setll, etc.) with mysql's API. IOW, when programming in RPG using SQL dump the cumbersome embedded SQL stuff and do things the MySQL way.
