QUTCOFFSET was a poorly implemented way to determine absolute time. IBM is talking about making time management more robust on the system, and at that time QUTCOFFSET might be changed to read-only. It's not uncommon for shops to have neglected the UTC offset. When DST starts here (West Coast USA), the time will move ahead 1 hour. And a +0100 change to the UTC offset is also required. On my system, the UTC offset is set to 00:00; it has apparently never been properly set/maintained. I believe that my UTC should currently by -8:00 and should be -07:00 after DST starts. What problems can I expect from the UTC not properly set for my system? Thanks! >>> Bob2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 03/27/03 10:32AM >>> And for most Hosiers (Residents of Indiana), there is no change!
