You (and others who pointed it out) are absolutely correct. You only need multiple SAVCGHOBJ sets if intervening SAVaaa commands have occurred. My main point was that I'd used SAVCHGOBJ as part of a comprehensive backup process (though many years ago) and never lost a byte, despite losing disks. Sorry for the confusion. --buck
