I have just recently configured our SMTP services on our AS/400 170 due to an EDI requirement. Everything goes well for a day or so, but then the system resources are slowly consumed by QTSMTP* jobs. After researching, found an IBM resource document describing that it is "mail looping" that is causing these jobs to consume resources; it instructed me to add the fully qualified name of the AS/400 to the host table via CFGTCP option 10. I have done that and am still experiencing the issue. It was also suggested that the problem could be caused by the AS/400 name being specified as the "Mail Router" parameter on the CHGSMTPA command - this is not the case on our system. Has anyone else run into these same kinds of issues with SMTP? We are on V5R1 cum C2134510. Bob Cagle IT Manager Lynk, Inc. 913-492-9202 x41 bcagle@xxxxxxxxxxx
