Vern, > > Might be worth getting in on John Earl's security web cast on the 25th, > too. Thanks for the plug :). It will definitely be worth Oliver's time. Pat Botz (The IBM iSeries Security Architect) and I will be doing a web cast on March 25th at Noon EST that will cover this and many other topics. You can register at the iSeriesNetwork site (http://pentonevents.webex.com/pentonevents/onstage/g.php?d=665444549) or click off the link on our website's main page (www.powertech.com). Someone in this thread mentioned the "Top 10 Security Risks" session that I do at COMMON. During this web cast I'll cover an abbreviated version of this - more like a top 6 - because of the limited time (I gotta give Pat some time to talk about all the V5r2 new stuff, ya know). With regard to your Security Questions, the first question I have is: Have you turned on the Security Audit Journal (QAUDJRN)? This is the best source of security information on the iSeries. If not, how will you know if there is a problem? Recommendation #1 is to turn this puppy on this week. next week. Next week we'll talk about what you can do with the data you collected. jte -- John Earl | Chief Technology Officer The PowerTech Group 19426 68th Ave. S Seattle, WA 98032 (253) 872-7788 ext. 302 john.earl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx www.powertech.com --
