Oh, I get what you want to do -
There are a couple of things here "that could be" limiting you -

First, NT security may not allow you to do this, let alone change directory.
Second, I do not believe you can change drives with FTP, only directories
        that you are authorized to.
Third, make sure your FTP service on NT is authorized to this drive.

Now, with all that said, as in the second point - two ways around this -
a virtual directory that points to the other hard drive, which resides
within the FTP authorized directory - OR
move your data on NT to the authorized directory.

FTP does not recognize changes in physical hard drives, only directories -
this is not a limitation of the ISeries/400, it is a limitation of the FTP
protocol.

I hope I did not muttle this up too much so you can understand me.

A side note, if you want to, or think you should be able to do something in
FTP,
once it is called up, you can enter HELP and see what is available, this
works on
both the 400 and even in ahhh excuse me, DOS...

Subject: FTP from 400 to NT

Just having a brain fart. When I FTP to a NT server I want to change the
physcial drive that is set a my home dir.

I want to do this;

ftp> cd d:\ <====== This is invalid but is what I want to do.
ftp> get pcfile.txt library/file

I have tried get d:\pcfile.txt library/file

Am I allowed to do this???
