I strongly suggest that you DO save access paths. We used to omit that.
Then one time we did a whole system restore we were locked out of several
files for a week while access paths were being rebuilt.
Remember, you save, so that you can restore. Not to meet some audit
obligation.

Also check to see if your savings access paths. I know that adds time to
the
backup. Our backup use to take 2 1/2 hours, and when we changed it to save
access paths, it took over 4 hours to complete. The save while active may
be
a factor also if your doing it.
