That does seem excessive, doesn't it?  While I question the 
validity of the rule of thumb with this dramatic of an increase in 
CPW, it could be one partner is using it and the other not.  If you 
take the memory card sizes into consideration, a quantity of 8 1G 
memory cards fits very nicely into an 810.    

The other suggestions for taking into consideration workload, 
hardware configuration (machine pool requirements), potential 
future applications, etc. all contain valid points.
