Windows XP

I hope this isn't inappropriate for this list - David will no doubt tell me
if it is.

I'm looking at new laptops and for inexplicable reasons, most of the ones
I'm considering only come with XP Home in Canada with no upgrade option.
Since doing the upgrade yourself can sometimes void the warranty, I'm trying
to establish if I can live with XP Home.  In case it is significant, I
currently run W2K Pro.

I've looked at the technical specs and a number of articles comparing them
and the only things it seems that _might_ matter to me are the ones listed
below.  I'm not comms savvy enough to know if they really matter or not.  I
use my laptop to do iSeries development, I connect to multiple iSeries
systems, but don't host a mail server or anything on the machine.  I _do_
need to run VPNs and the like.

Can any of you out there who understand this stuff tell if given the
scenario above - any of the things in the list below matter to me.
