PJL vs port 2 of a Marknet X2000 device

We have an issue that numerous remote writers stopped printing spool files 
of a few dozen or more pages with overlays after putting on the latest 
cume for V5R2.  IBM is working on this.
As a workaround we are reconfiguring a number of printers from remote 
writers to PJL.  We are following the guidelines in technote 12454128.

We are having a problem with one device and printer.  Assuming that a 
Marknet X2000 device is similar to the Lexmark MarkNet XLe or Pro 
(External) mentioned in this article.  However we cannot get port 2 to 
work.  We create a device:
