How are the PC's getting to the internet? Do they have internet IP address? Does you AS400 also have an internet IP address. Do you have your ISP's DNS server setup on the AS400 like the PC's so basically your AS400 is directly on the internet? Well in order to see your as400 in Network Neighborhood, you will have to have it in the ISP's DNS on the same subnet as the PC's belonging to the same domain as the PC's. -----Original Message----- From: kirkg@manageinc.com [mailto:kirkg@manageinc.com] Sent: Thursday, February 13, 2003 3:53 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: Win2K and NetServer I have a small client that isn't running WINS, uses his ISP's DNS addresses and PC at 98 or W2K and Fixed IP addresses (non-DHCP). Note: this is the way I found it, not the way I would run it/ Now from a W2K system I can go to My Network Places and drill down to Entire Network/Microsoft... and see everyone except the NetServer. _____________________ Kirk Goins Systems Engineer, Manage Inc. That is ok if you are running WINS and 9x or NT. So what is your DNS setting on the 2$ box? -----Original Message----- From: kirkg@manageinc.com [mailto:kirkg@manageinc.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 2:12 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: Win2K and NetServer OK...
