Limits in IFS

We store text documents as members in a file. Unfortunately we reached the
OS/400 limit of 32767 members and had to move to multiple files. Someone
has now suggested we should re-visit and move all the documents to IFS as
this has no limits. Can anyone confirm that there is no limit to the
maximum number of files in a directory? I've checked the manual and could
find no mention of limits.
