Jimmy,

The problem is that you are unlikely to find many people with real
experience in both tools.

I have used Plex for several years, I can say that it develops very good
applications, especially with the iSeries as the server. The applications
are very easy to deploy and the Plex development environment is very
productive. It is also very easy to use your Plex model for multiple
purposes. For example, you can produce a Windows UI, Java UI and Web UI
all from the same basic model. Likewise, it is also very easy to change
the back-end deployment from say the iSeries to SQL Server.

I have only deployed with the iSeries as my back-end, and I can say that
from what I know from working in the Plex community, Plex seems to produce
better iSeries apps, than they do any other platform. In other words,
there is a lot more "tuning" involved with deploying for say SQL Server.

Finally, a great aspect of Plex are all of the patterns that are
available. It is also quite easy to extend these patterns or develop your
own. This is where, in my opinion, Plex truly distances itself from all
of its competition.

If you have any further questions you can email me off-list.

Hope this helps.

Mark

        Subject: Lansa vs. Plex

We are converting from mainframe to iSeries. We are evaluating
development
tools. We have narrowed it down to Lansa and CA's advantage Plex. I was
wondering about some real users opions of the products. Do more prefer
Plex
or Lansa? Maybe some pros and cons for both.

Thanks for your help!!!
