Re: IPDS printer required for printing a barcode?

It doesn't sound like you are using a ascii printer and emulation to
print that many pages... HPT was not designed for that volume.

The main purpose was to handle the hundreds of different ascii 
printers found attached to pc's.

I suspect you are using a full blown IPDS printer.
