No, you can print bar-code without IPDS. There are printers (like Printronix & IBM versions) that print bar-code and they aren't IPDS. You need an application that generates Bar-code, the bar-code printers actually draw the characters and bar-code pattern. Our bar-code printers are set up as remotes to the iSeries.
