probably more curious why the difference in one cpu from the other.

Or checking the job logs for the QTFTP* jobs in the QSYSWRK subsystem.

Or checking to see if the remote system has an FTP exit point program in
place.

Just a few suggestions from the archives.

Just wish you could search the archives for "connection closed" and not
have it do a "connection" and "closed"

I searched for
connection closed ftp
and got 85 hits.  Several even applied.
