I'd sure love to hear some of these war stories. I've been close to a few,
but the facts are never made clear.

There comes the inevitable day when all talk about the conversion goes
hush-hush and from then on everything is on a "need to know" basis. Soon
after that, suits with briefcases start to arrive. After a few weeks they
disappear. Then a used (but newer) iSeries with more horsepower shows up,
just to "help out on the conversion. Usually just about then the
executive-in-charge of the conversion gets a job offer from some other firm
and leaves, or gets fired and leaves. My experience is limited however.

Brad's line "Well, Art, because we are, that's why. You guys act as if you
think I have any input on this." I love that line! It ranks right there
with Lardner's "'Shut up' he explained".

Well, Art, because we are, that's why.

You guys act as if you think I have any input on this. Haven't you ever
worked in an organization with levels of management over you? They
didn't ask me...
