Don't know if you would consider this easy, but -

You could have a program checking the outq say every
five minutes for new spool files (in rdy status) - outq
would not be attached to a printer -

Upon finding new spool files, do a cpysplf to a database file,
and ftp that to a pc (most likely your NT server, or some other
pc running ftp services) - could even put the "text file" to the
ifs to work with it there, and avoid ftp.

Keep in mind - if you do this yourself, that you will have to
take into consideration file name/directory structure to avoid
duplicate pc file names (meaning you may have to read the db file
to figure out how to name the file based upon run date/time/report
heading/title/pgm name/user name/job name/job number - just to name
a few)

There are packages out there that do this too, but I get the sense
you are looking for home grown.

There are even api's to get most of this done if you want to
research them out some more too - as for myself, the amount
of what we have been doing, the cpysplf and x-fer via ftp is
been plenty (though I have done some work to copy it to a folder
so that I could e-mail out the text file, or even gone to pdf
format for e-mailing out) - but this is more based on the
current job running, not so much an outq as a whole.

Just a couple of suggestions.

Is there an easy way to have an AS400 outq "print" to a file on a PC with no
operator intervention required (ie: like a cpysplf with *FCFC) and, it is
xmas, have NO control codes?
