One of my older and not progressive clients just purchased
six new ThinkPads. He has a 9406-500 and will probably upgrade
sometime in the next century.

He has no ethernet adapter.

He wants to hook these ThinkPads(local attach) to the AS/400.

I haven't visited this particular situation in quite a while.

Any new hardware solutions out there for this sort of thing,
or am I stuck with gateways or local emulation cards ???

He has several extra comm. lines and I got to wondering about
using a remote controller(locally attached) to come in with
the ThinkPads.

Doesn't Perl have a version with ethernet adapters ??

Any ideas other than the ethernet adapter which is sort of
silly on a machine this old.
