The beauty of a UI independent design is that we can use HTML today, because it's here, while we build a seperate open source thick client interface that speaks via a stripped-down TCP/IP communication. I'm thinking of an OUIC, Open User Interface Connectivity, with drivers similar to ODBC, only done correctly (that is, no proprietary code on the server). HTML provides the 80/20 solution. Until the standard OUIC interface is available (whether that's an X translator or a brand new interface), then HTML can provide 80% of the function for far less than 20% of the development costs. Just my thoughts. Joe
