Yeah...it's a thing to pass the environment (not data areas) between
jobs...especially useful when using Java in batch...

After I posted this email, the programmer who sent it to me, pleaded
"temporary insanity", claiming the problem was actually caused by a
problem in the interface between the chair and the keyboard, and not a
problem with the system.
