IMHO a VCP for the SBMJOB command is not practical. It is quite a complex command, there are lots of parameters to deal with - it is not the simplest of programming - AND when the os is upgraded, you have to go in and re-program it (probably!). I did a number of VCP for the save/restore commands for a previous employer - it is not fun. The alternate command processor is a much more simple solution. Jeff Bull -----Original Message----- From: Steve Landess [mailto:steve_landess@hotmail.com] Sent: 12 December 2002 16:05 To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Running batch jobs in Qinter You could write a validity checking program (VCP) for the SBMJOB command that checks to see if the value in the JOBQ() parameter is any of the jobqs that are attached to the QINTER subsystem, then send an escape message that indicates that the jobq specified is NOT allowed. Somebody here probably already has the source code for the VCP, if they are willing to share... SBMJOB CMD(CALL PGM(ABC)) JOBQ(QINTER) Obviously it has to be revisited whenever there is a OS Upgrade... Just a thought... P.D.
