Bill, Glad you found a resolution. On the PTF thing, I would generally do a search for whatever key words seem appropriate in both the APAR and the PTF databases. Searching for the MSGID in the APAR database came up with this old entry for V2R2 and V2R3 (see below). It seems appropriate and may point to the underlying issue for your problem. Sometimes, particularly in the early part of a release, you get to be the first. The good news is they might name the PTF after you. Regards, Andy Error Description An attempt to use CRTDUPOBJ on a logical file that fails with msgCPF324A reason code 1, file was requested to be created in user asp 1 but the dependant file is in user asp 2, invalidly places an entry in the cross reference dependancy file QADBFDEP. The logical is not actually duplicated due to the error but is put into the dependancy file as if it were duplicated. Problem Summary An attempt to use CRTDUPOBJ on a logical file that fails with msgCPF324A reason code 1, file was requested to be created in user asp 1 but the dependent file is in user asp 2, invalidly places an entry in the cross reference dependency file QADBFDEP. The logical is not actually duplicated due to the error but an entry is placed in the dependency file as if it were created. CRTLF with physical file(s) in different ASPs can also cause the same error (and resulting incorrect entry in QADBFDEP). Problem Conclusion The invalid entry in QADBFDEP will be removed after the CPF324A reason code 1 error is detected. > admin@midrange.com] On Behalf Of Bill > Subject: Re: CPF324A > > Andy Nolen-Parkhouse wrote: > > If you've double-checked all your stuff and it still fails, I would > > suggest looking at PTF's.
