Wow, I wish I could lower that threshold too;
I wonder what would happen if I cleared the trace data,
and started right before/during peak "congestion" and
ended it right after, then tried the straspbal -
I'll have to try that one;

Balancing with the *USAGE option will only move data from disk arms that are
"hot" ...

I was told by IBM SupportLine that "hot" in this context means the arm
utilization is higher than 40% ... If the trace data collected didn't
encounter any 'hot' arms, then nothing happens.

I've viewed arm utilization spikes in my system too. However, apparently the
trace function didn't see it. Maybe the trace collection is smoothing things
out by sampling at too long an interval (???)

I wish we could set the "hot" value to use and the interval at which to
collect trace data, but IBM doesn't let us... or at least I've never found a
way to do it.
