As I stated previous, the only one which I'm aware of that does what the original requestor wanted is OpenConnect's solution. The company I previously worked for which had the same problem tried HOD, Lansa (NewLook), Hummingbird, Jacada, and Openconnect. See previous line for what actually did it for us. jch -----Original Message----- From: Adam Lang [mailto:aalang@rutgersinsurance.com] Sent: Monday, December 02, 2002 1:06 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Web server with Telnet Functionality? http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/hostondemand/ http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/hostondemand/library/infocentergafi nal/hod/en/doc/install/install.html I don't think this will solve his problem, though. You get the java applet via port 80, but there are still 5 (static) ports that need to be opened on a firewall for the java applet to connect to. http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/hostondemand/library/infocentergafi nal/hod/en/doc/install/install.html#HDRHODFIREWALLS I can't think of specifically what can be doen to help David. Am I assuming this is the scenario: You have your AS/400 behind a webserver/firewall. A client can talk to the webserver (only port 80) and the webserver can talk to the AS/400 and you are hopign the webserver can broker a communication between the two. I don't think you can do that in the way you want. You would have to have an actual application running on the server that can keep track of sessions and the tcp/ip stream alive with your host (since technically at the end of each page, a tcp stream you created with your web app would be closed). Here is another company: http://www.jacada.com/Products/Jacada_Terminal_Emulator/ But they need ports beside 80 also.
