I never really took the time to research the scope of the start command, but
I think it's just more or less like DOS searching its pathlist.  Seems to
find most of the applications I've tried to fire up from the as400.

That's cool. I knew I relied on the file association with the extension,
but didn't have an executable in my IFS I could find  ;-(

If there were a true executable, they'd not need the START command, i
assume?
