RE: Running a VB program from the AS/400 IFS

Vern,

This of course depends on the association of the file extension and the
Textpad application.  If you wanted to name the application (Excel for
example), save some typing and try something like this.

STRPCCMD PCCMD('Start EXCEL.EXE "\\192.168.1.3\root\home\vern\data1.txt"')

Otherwise, you must specify the path to the application, which may not be
constant on all installations.

The following worked - need to specify the NetServer share name after the
system name (or IP address)

started up TextPad on my PC. root is the share name for '\'
