Thanks for your assistance.  There is no "SSLMODE" line in the *ADMIN config 
(see previously posted *ADMIN config for more information).

"An easier way to do this might be to just install the Apache PTF's."
I'm somewhat reluctant to install the Apache PTFs as we have several 24/7 
intranet apps which we can't afford to break.
