Unfortunately, I can't answer that definitively, but you're probably right.
I was fiddling with hardware at around the same time, and may have lost the
host table entry at that point.

More specifically, I put all the user libraries into ASP 2, leaving just the
system in ASP 1.  Then I upgraded from V4R5 to V5R1.  This was around the
time there was a discussion about the 70-day grace period stuff, so I saved
the system to tape, then did a scratch install from that tape to ASP 1.  It
recovered ASP 2 with the user libraries just fine, but that may have been
when it lost the host table entry.  FWIW, the OS grace period started over
after the scratch install.
