Hello Mark,

This tells me that a service adapter plug-in is being run and it
failed.

This tells me the service adapter plug-in is the one that supports
WebSphere so you should look for a WebSphere log file. The location of
that log will vary according to the version of WebSphere. It too,
doesn't know what a joblog is.

Now the real question is: Why is WebSphere running in your ADMIN
instance? As far as I know the ADMIN instance does not use servlets
and therefore does not need WebSphere. I would run:
        WRKHTTPCFG *ADMIN
and comment out any WebSphere service adapter directives. There should
be four of them and they will look similar to:

Service /*.jsp /QSYS.LIB/QAPPSVR.LIB /QZHJSVLT.SRVPGM:AdapterService

Service /servlet/* /QSYS.LIB/QAPPSVR.LIB/QZHJSVLT.SRVPGM:AdapterService

ServerInit /QSYS.LIB/QAPPSVR.LIB/QZHJSVLT.SRVPGM:AdapterInit
/QIBM/ProdData/IBMWebAS/properties/bootstrap.properties

ServerTerm /QSYS.LIB/QAPPSVR.LIB/QZHJSVLT.SRVPGM:AdapterExit

Comment them out by putting a # in front of them. Then start your
*ADMIN instance again.

Welcome the world of shitty Unix ports dumped on our nice, clean,
consistent system. Expect much more of this as more Unix crap gets
ported instead of rewritten (DCE/DNS/DHCP/DLFM/C/C++/etc). Just wait
until you hear that the primary partition in an LPAR must be AIX/Linux
and OS/400 is merely another guest -- and no, I haven't been made privy
to any secrets, that is just my educated guess based on current trends
-- watch this space.

Simon Coulter.
