| [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Leif Svalgaard | From: jt <jt@ee.net> | > | > But one thing they MUST do, to a large extent, is follow the computer | > industry. | | nonsense. IBM once was a leader and they would LOVE to be that again. Uhhhhhhhhh................................... You snipped the following sentence in my post, Leif. "Leading, and being TOO far in advance, is not financially healthy for ANY company." You wouldn't be suggesting that Server Group cut-off a whole LOTTA resources to the x,p and zSeries, would Ya...? And the other thing is, the MAIN thing, is that the computer industry WILL NOT TOLERATE ANOTHER MicroSoft-type of leadership. It won't happen. Not by IBM or ANY company... Them days are gone. Not disagreeing with Your point, IF (big if) it's that IBM can do MUCH better than it is, of course...!!! But that IBM includes Software, MicroElectronics, IP, Services Group, PCs, AND/OR whatever Groups they now have (as I haven't followed as close these past 6 months).
