IBM is not one homogonous body.

It is 300,000-some bodies moving in contrary directions.  One-a them
"Groups" is Software Group.  Software Group would, apparently, like ALL
eServers to work on one OS.  They would like that platform controlled by
Sun, apparently.

But one thing they MUST do, to a large extent, is follow the computer
industry.

Leading, and being TOO far in advance, is not financially healthy for ANY
company.

And, btw, a "Group" in IBM is a multi-billion dollar international
company...  A Sr. Vice President and "Group" Executive is a little more than
what it sounds like, of course.  They work some pretty big "windmills", at
IBM...!
