Change the System Value QMAXSIGN, which used to default to 15, and now
defaults to 3.  I usually set it to 5, because I think three is too low.  I
should point that security gurus like Wayne Evans disagree with me on the
setting of 5 versus 3.

 Leif, what about getting past the 3 signon attempts that most shops use?
Is that easily gotten past?

no not secure at all. This type of password can easily be guessed in
a few seconds using a traditional "dictionary" attack.
