Howard - I wasn't picking on or pointing at anyone in particular - I was even good enough NOT to use the thread to advertise our automated testing tools which would work with almost any choice of language !! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Weatherly, Howard" <Howard.Weatherly@dlis.dla.mil> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Friday, October 18, 2002 3:04 PM Subject: RE: Development ideas This message is in MIME format. We have been asked a collective question from a newcomer to our "group" of iSeries users seeking advice on what choices we would suggest for developing applications on the AS/400. The question was: " We have an opportunity to rewrite an entire system using whatever platform we select. If any of you have suggestions for us, we'd be very appreciative." We are all users of the AS/400 and can see the benefits but have we given constructive advice to an "newcomer" or have we answered the question in the most positive of ways, or simply used it to crack jokes and rekindle old jokes and pet hates/likes? and muddied the issue. If I was an ousider looking in I would see that the user fraternity has a lot of gripes about the AS/400 and move on to look at the next platform. Just my opinion - I won't say humble!!
