Is the Ops Console PC also connected to your network? If so, is it a 192.168.0.x network? If so, If so, there is probably an ip address conflict - Ops Console wants to use that same network, so you essentially have 2 network cards (one is 'modem' on the direct cable) that are trying to be the same network - can't do it.
