Paul, What you choose is your choice. I am commenting on the legal aspects of what you are talking about doing. That is all. And if you think that being sued is less trouble than keeping your serial number the same when changing machines, then that is your choice. These clients are also trying to protect themselves. The vendor has had 3 ownership changes and 4 bankruptcies in the last 12 years. If nobody answers the phone when the customer needs a license for a new machine, what are they supposed to do? I know that IBM has the capability to keep the serial number the same on a new box ( I just saw one that had migrated up to an 820 from an F10 for the exact reason we are discussing), but this is almost more trouble than it is worth. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
