Hi Justin, I'll keep it simple, and I invite the list to discuss any
ramifications with you, use F1 help for detailed explainations ot the
commands and parameters;
1)      Create the Subsystem;
CRTSBSD JSBSD(JUSTINSBS) POOLS(1 *BASE) MAXJOBS(pick a number or *NOMAX
your choice) TEXT 'Something descriptive'
You may want to consider POOLS(1 *SHRPOOL1) if you are worried that your
jobs may have performance impact elsewhere on the system
2)      Create the Jobq
CRTJOBQ JOBQ(JUSTINQ) OPRCTL(*YES) AUTCHK(*OWNER) TEXT 'another nice bit
of description'
3) Marry the JOBQ to the SBS
ADDJOBQE SBSD(JUSTINSBS) JOBQ(JUSTINQ) MAXACT(same as MAXJOBS in CRTSBSD)
SEQNBR(10) MAXPTYx(*NOMAX)
Notes here; I'm assuming 1 jobq to 1 sbs here, but you can have more than
one jobq feeding a subsystem. MAXPTYx is really MAXPTY1, MAXPTY2
->MAXPTY9 and is a way of restricting 'job hog' jobs from submitting.
Some people would CReaTe a JOBDescription at this point but you might want
to stick with QDFTJOBD. Look at the online help and decide for yourself,
or drop another note to midrange-l
4) Create a Class (some people prefer to use existing classes, but
it's a useful exercise)
CRTCLS CLS(JUSTINCLS) RUNPTY(I suggest 50) TIMESLICE(I suggest 5000)
PURGE(*NO) DFTWAIT(I suggest 180) CPUTIME(*NOMAX) MAXTMPSTG(*NOMAX)
MAXTHD(*NOMAX) TEXT 'nice description'

5) Add the Routing Entries (this drove me nuts until I worked out
what was going on!)
ADDRTGE SBSD(JUSTINSBS) SEQNBR(10) CMPVAL(QCMDB) PGM(QCMD) CLS(JUSTINCLS)
POOLID(1)
ADDRTGE SBSD(JUSTINSBS) SEQNBR(9999) CMPVAL(*ANY) PGM(QCMD) CLS(JUSTINCLS)
POOLID(1)

Now try STRSBS JUSTINSBS, and assuming my poor memory and even worse
typing haven't let me down, you're ready to rock and roll...
